Prior to holding his current role, Mr. Heys began his career as a financial advisor in 1973, joining the director's loan committee of First Western Bank as its founding director, chairman and board member in 1978. He subsequently served as the vice president of Smith Barney, retiring from this position in 1998.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Heys earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing from the California Polytechnic State University and the University of Washington in 1964. Following this accomplishment, he attained a post-graduate diploma in finance and financial management services from the New York Institute of Finance. Well-qualified in his field, he is a certified financial advisor and registered financial principal.
As part of his career, Mr. Heys authored "Spending Your Way to Wealth: Setting Your Compass Course to Steer in the Direction of True Wealth," which was published with Investorship Publishing and Kitsap Publishing in 2020. He also lent his expertise to his book, "Mere Mortals? Financial Guide to Spending Your Way to Wealth(s)," in 2022.
Mr. Heys was initially inspired to enter his vocation out of a desire to help people understand finances. Looking toward the future, his goal is to provide the education and resources people need to make intelligent investments and attain financial sufficiency. Over the course of his career, he has found that people needed the most assistance on how to make decisions about financial investments, rather than figuring out what to invest in.
