Mr. Root is recognized for his dedicated career as an educator

KELLYVILLE, OK, November 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ronald William Root has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ron Root graduated as salutatorian of his class in Kellyville, Oklahoma and served as Vice President of the Creek County 4-H Club. With many years of excellence to his credit started out as a teaching principal in Red Rock Public Schools in Red Rock, Oklahoma and later accepting teaching positions in Hartshorne, Depew, and Bristow, Oklahoma school systems. Upon completion of an accredited master degree in library science from Oklahoma University he accepted a position as associate professor of the business library at Central Missouri State University while also serving as a Christian house father for ten boys. He was then called by the Vice President of Planning to a newly formed North East Tulsa Junior College Campus later named Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma to start a library. There he served 33 years before retiring to the family ranch to raise beef cattle. Mr. Root is a member of the Creek County and State Teachers Association and later the Retired Creek County Teachers Association. He also is a member of the Creek County and State Cattlemen's Association. He enjoyed earning his private pilot license and flying to different locations out of state. As a veteran he served over 22 years in the Oklahoma Air National Guard. An avid gun collector, he was on the Oklahoma State University Varsity and ROTC rifle team as a 3-year letterman and was nominated by the opposing Kansas State University coach at Manhattan, Kansas for the honor of All American.

While earning many marksman medals, his biggest thrill was outshooting the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado and being the top marksman in the Oklahoma State National Guard. The biggest accomplishment was becoming a Christian while a sophomore in high school and being married to his wife, Sue Dawn Wofford.

Ron used up three of his nine lives before the first grade. He fell off the back of a Farm-All tractor and was run over by a disc and was completely covered by soil except one leg. Then he climbed up onto the same tractor seat and ate ant poison laced with arsenic. The third time he almost drowned but was saved by the family dog.
