Drawing on 10 years of expertise in entrepreneurship, Ms. Bay has found success as the chief executive officer, founder and owner of Southern Ohio Adventures Recreation. Since 2012, her responsibilities have included overseeing the vocational aspect of the business, including billing and finance, and hiring and staff management, in addition to ensuring the company is current regarding standards and practices. Ms. Bay is also the founder and owner of Mitzi Lou's, a restaurant serving pizza, subs, paninis, wraps and salads in Athens, Ohio.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Bay was a staff member in the accounts payable department of a local county board. Through the encouragement of both friends and family, she decided to start her own business. Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Bay earned a Master of Business Administration from Walden University in 2009.
Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Bay dedicates her time to such organizations as the Autism Fund, 4-H and local county boards working to raise awareness for developmental disabilities. To remain aware of changes affecting her industry, she is a member of her local Chamber of Commerce. Noted for her achievements in the field, Ms. Bay received recognition as one of the Businesswomen of the Month from her local newspaper in 2020, in addition to being featured on her local news station.
Ms. Bay attributes her success to her desire and passion for helping people with disabilities. In a career filled with highlights, she is most proud of helping disabled individuals succeed. Looking toward the future, she hopes to further develop her businesses, particularly Mitzi Lou's, to provide more opportunities for people with disabilities. Ms. Bay also intends to expand Southern Ohio Adventures Recreation by establishing additional vocational centers in various states in order to reach and generate opportunities for disabled individuals.
