JAMIE FOXX MEMOIR "ACT LIKE YOU GOT SOME SENSE" NOW A GRAMMY NOMINATED AUDIOBOOK

Hachette Audio production narrated by award-winning actor and musician Jamie Foxx honored in the Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording Category

NEW YORK, NY, November 18, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Recording Academy® has announced the 2023 GRAMMY Awards nominees, and Hachette Audio is proud to share that their production of ACT LIKE YOU GOT SOME SENSE, written and performed by the multi-award-winning artist Jamie Foxx, has been nominated to the category Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording.

Multi-hyphenate talent Jamie Foxx has won many awards for his varied artistic work, including an Academy Award®, and he is also no stranger to the GRAMMY Awards. Nominated 8 times in recording categories for R&B and Rap, he won a GRAMMY for his 2010 recording of the duet R&B song "Blame It" with T-Pain.

Now Foxx can add spoken word to his list of nomination honors: he celebrated news of the nomination with his many fans and followers in a post saying: "Truly humbled and thankful for this Grammy nomination. It means a lot!! Thank you to my beautiful daughters, for allowing me to share a bit of our story with the world... Hopefully it inspires!!!"

In this ode to his two daughters and his late grandmother, Estelle Marie Talley, Foxx relates what he has learned from the women in his life: from making it in Hollywood to the pitfalls and joys of parenting in the digital age. ACT LIKE YOU GOT SOME SENSE, the title of the nominated production (also available in print and ebook editions), was inspired by the fierce old-school principles his grandmother instilled as she raised him in a small Texas town--and that he tried to impart to his two independent daughters raised in a very different world. His daughter Corinne Foxx narrates her foreword of this GRAMMY-nominated audiobook.

Hachette Audio productions have been nominated a total of 30 times for the Grammy, winning 10 of the top Grammy honors in various categories. Ana Maria Allessi, VP, Publisher, Hachette Audio said: "How marvelous to have Jamie recognized for his stellar performances. We thank the Academy for this honor. Hearing Jamie tell his stories -- tenderly, candidly, sometimes profanely and often hilariously -- makes you appreciate the book even more."

The 65th GRAMMY® Awards winners will be announced Sunday, Feb 2, 2023, in a ceremony broadcast from Los Angeles. For more information and a full list of this year's nominees, visit https://www.grammy.com/.
