Drawing on more than four decades of human resources expertise, Ms. Plank excelled as an HR Administrator and a project manager for the State of New Mexico's Judicial Branch, where she began in 1998. She served as an advisor to employees on HR related matters, trained employees and judges, and also acted as a bailiff and court monitor, and accepted pleadings. She acted as a Project Manager for Family Court at the Second Judicial District Court. Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Plank earned a Bachelor of Arts in health and physical education from Stephens College.

While hard work and dedication brought her far in her career, she attributes her success to her zeal for learning. Ms. Plank aims to utilize her undergraduate education to help her lose some weight, become more involved in her community and as she is now retired from State service, do some consulting work.
