In this capacity, Ms. Nelson is responsible for scheduling and planning events, overseeing all aspects of live video and audio performance recordings, ensuring the availability of recording equipment, managing postproduction services and independent, convention, conference, wedding and reception recordings.
Ms. Nelson initially began her career as a musical director for the Bobby Jones Gospel television show and tours in Nashville, Tennessee, from 1980 to 1983. She also served as a musical director for Jennifer Holliday from 1993 until 1994. Between 1996 and 2020, she was active as a minister of worship and arts at the Union Baptist Church in White Plains, New York.

She also performs with major and independent artists alike for concerts, plays, live and studio recordings. In her career related endeavors, Ms. Nelson has written and produced "Meditations of My Heart," "The Famine is Over," "Oh Lord We Praise Your Name" and "Yes I Know He Will."
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Nelson pursued an education at Fisk University, fulfilling coursework in music education in 1981. Subsequently, she attended the Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business at Belmont University, where she completed a program in recording arts and music business entertainment law in 1983. Ms. Nelson continued her academic efforts at the Northwestern Theological Seminary, earning a bachelor's degree and a Master of Theology in biblical studies in 2013.
As a commitment to her field, Ms. Nelson has obtained certification as a music instructor. Additionally, she has been active with several industry-related associations, including the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and the National Music Publishers' Association, among others. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Nelson contributes to the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, supports various children and animal charity organizations, and serves as a pastor at the Hope South Christian Center of Atlanta.
Well-regarded for her contributions to the field, Ms. Nelson has received multiple awards, including the Gospel Newsome Awards and the Instrumentalist of the Year Award for "Meditations of My Heart." Among her professional accomplishments, she is most proud to have recorded six instrumental and vocal records and singles of her own, in addition to the opportunity she took in recording Jennifer Holliday's first gospel CD at her independent production company.
Reflecting on a long career, Ms. Nelson attributes much of her success to her Christian faith, her musical lineage and her parents, who motivated her to develop and refine her talent by facilitating her exposure to various aspects of music and inspiring her to pursue her vocational path. Looking toward the future, she aspires to train and mentor young artists on the technical facets of music production and recording, and hopes to pass on her legacy while she provides comprehensive consulting services at the company and in the field.
