Patricia A. Hare-Johnson has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Ms. Hare-Johnson is recognized for her dedicated career serving her community in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area



    PITTSBURGH, PA, February 15, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patricia A. Hare-Johnson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As a lifelong community activist, organizer and volunteer, Ms. Hare-Johnson has come into her own as an IBO, or independent business operator, for ACN. Since 2019, she has focused her efforts on recruiting customers and providing essential services, such as gas and electric supply, home security and internet security.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Hare-Johnson began her career as a project director and co-founder for the West Side Community Development Corporation in 1989, retiring from the position in 2001. In this role, she was a project director for housing development, through which she and the team built 15 brand-new homes. She then was the managing director of Ignite and Stream Energy, which was later acquired by ACN. While developing her career, she worked in the IDD field as an assistant program manager for Citizen Care, an assisted living program for adults. At the same time, she served as a tour coordinator for Exceptional Adventures, another program under Citizen Care, which arranged vacations for people with special needs. Prior to that time, she worked with severely physically handicapped young people, teaching them how to utilize adaptive wheelchairs and equipment while treating patients through a sensory stimulation process where they learned how to move and walk. She has also worked for Chartiers IDD as an assistant program manager. In this role, as was the case with her other IDD roles, she provided services for adults with special needs. Ms. Hare-Johnson spent 25 years with Mainstay Life Services as a community living specialist, working with special needs individuals.

Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Ms. Hare-Johnson served as a community center director at the Salvation Army Westside Center while also serving on the executive board of the Fairywood Citizen Council. She has also been a valued member with the Southern Poverty Law Center, Broadhead West Gate Community Development Alliance and the National Consumer Panel for 21 years. Among her professional accomplishments, she was honored for her volunteerism by Partners For Quality. Through her work with the Carnegie Mellon University Center for Shared Prosperity, she helped implement a pilot program for incarcerated individuals who were being released, titled "People with Colorful Backgrounds." She is also an affiliate with "On Doc" which provides healthcare at a reasonable price in four services: tele-medicine, counseling, financial counseling and discounted prescriptions. Additionally, she is a valued member of the National Consumer Panel, conducting surveys and recording purchases for them. She has held this role for more than 10 years. She is also a 10-year heart score study participant with the University of Pittsburgh. This long-term national study records various biometrics associated with the human heart to gauge the effects of lifestyle on health over a period of many years across various ethnic groups. In addition to the heart score study, she worked through the University of Pittsburgh to contribute to the Child Matrix Group, which, through surveys, studied whether children in certain areas were thriving, or doing poorly.

Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Hare-Johnson earned an associate's degree in behavioral sciences from the Community College of Allegheny County in 1980. In addition, she has earned several professional certifications, including a certificate for managing multiple projects, objectives and deadlines, earned from the National Task Force on Continuing Education Unit in 1994. She has also received certificates of appreciation from the Southern Poverty Law Center, UNICEF and the United Negro College Fund. She is also a certified minister through Universal Life Church since 2015. To further her skills and add greater depth to her expertise, she became a physical therapy assistant by graduating from a program through the St. Francis School of Rehabilitation Medicine. Additionally, she has studied real estate fundamentals and practices at Robert Morris University.

Within the coming years, Ms. Hare-Johnson's goal is to build generational wealth that she can leave to her family. Having come from poverty herself, she aims to ensure that her family has the resources to secure better lives for themselves in the future. She also intends to continue he work as the creator of the Kindness Project, which endeavors to spread kindness far and wide.
