Moreover, Dr. Rogers remains aware of the importance of visibility and civic service, thus he volunteers as an elder and Sunday school teacher at his church home, and he is the current chairman of the board for the FMH foundation.
A dedication to family proved foundational to Dr. Rogers' advancement, and his personal and professional milestones have been marked by numerous commendations. For example, he received the Hall of Honor Distinguished Service Award from the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas in 2015, and served as chairman of the College of Natural Sciences Advisory Council as well. Dr. Rogers also serves on the board of the Chancellor's Council Executive Committee of the University of Texas system and the Development Board of UT Austin. He is a former President of the Permian Basin Dental Association, Director of the United Way of Midland, served on the Hospice of Midland Board, the Midland College Foundation Board as well as a Trustee on the Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Board.
