Susan Hutchison Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Political and Nonprofit Leadership

Susan Hutchison celebrates more than 20 years as a director of multiple nonprofit organizations.



Ms. Hutchison was appointed to the board of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars by President George W. Bush and served for 8 years as its finance chairman.

    KIRKLAND, WA, February 24, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Susan Hutchison has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Widely renowned for her leadership of multiple nonprofit organizations, Ms. Hutchison prospered as the chairman of the Washington State Republican Party (WSRP) for half a decade. In addition to effectively managing a team of over 125 people, she focused on building the party by uniting, growing, and communicating with all constituencies. She forged effective relationships with donors and represented her state at the Republican National Committee. She is extremely proud to have been honored as Chairman Emeritus—a unique distinction in the WSRP. She became the GOP nominee for US Senate-WA in 2018.

Ms. Hutchison is known as a distinguished journalist and news anchor for Seattle's KIRO-TV (CBS), between 1981 and 2002. Throughout her career with KIRO-TV, Ms. Hutchison was honored with five Emmy awards for producing, writing, and reporting news and documentaries. She subsequently found further success as an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Seattle Pacific University.

Ms. Hutchison served as the executive director of the Charles Simonyi Fund for Arts and Sciences, where she provided more than $100 million in grants for art, science, and education programs worldwide. Ms. Hutchison was appointed to the board of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars by President George W. Bush and served for 8 years as its finance chairman. She also served on the boards of the Seattle Symphony as chair, the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum and as chair of Young Life International. The Washington Policy Center gave her its Champion of Freedom Award.

In the coming years, Ms. Hutchison will continue sharing her management expertise as a consultant in non-profit management.
