Drawing more than two decades of expertise in the field of engineering, Mr. Edge is a principal civil, environmental, and transportation engineer with CRW Engineering Group Inc (CRW). In this capacity, he is responsible for contractual and project management of large multidiscipline engineer projects, overseeing staff, generating work through networking and proposal efforts, and promoting business ventures in new marketplace environments. He began his career gaining valuable experience in civil engineering, construction management as an engineering intern with the Alaska State Parks and Outdoor Recreation working on non-motorized infrastructure improvements, an interest he maintains to this day. Outside of his primary vocational endeavors, Mr. Edge contributes to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Transportation and Development Institute as an associate member of the transportation safety committee. Likewise, he has contributed as a member of the Onsite Systems technical review board for the Municipality of Anchorage and volunteered as the den leader and committee chairman of his local Cub Scout pack.
An expert in his field, Mr. Edge holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and a Master of Science in environmental quality engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Subsequently, he has expanded his credentials by becoming a registered professional engineer in the states of Alaska, Washington, New Mexico, Idaho, Oregon and Montana, and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineering (PTOE) and Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) through the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Transportation Professional Certification Board.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Edge aligns himself with ASCE and ITE. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in bringing progressive transportation infrastructure improvements that improve safety for vulnerable roadway users that have not previously existed in Anchorage, such as back-in angle parking, bicycle boulevards, and protected bike lanes. In accounting for his success, he largely credits his diligent work ethic, as well as his commitment to forging trusting relationships with his clients.
