MARIETTA, GA, March 02, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Clarence Vinson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Holding four decades of immeasurable expertise, Clarence T. Vinson, AIA, NCARB is well-respected for his contributions to the field of architecture, specializing in hospitality architecture, or the design of hotels and resorts.

As a child, Mr. Vinson was drawn to beautiful buildings. At the age of 12, he became fascinated by his neoclassical elementary school building with 14-foot ceilings and triple-hung windows. Then learning that "architects" dreamed up these designs set a course for his early desire of becoming an architect. Coupled with his love for drawing, Mr. Vinson became inspired to learn more about architecture and design and would frequent his local library's art and architecture section. He soon discovered his first architectural hero, the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, setting him on an early path to his eventual career. Through the years, he also learned to love modernist movement architects, including Richard Meier, César Pelli and I.M. Pei, then later many of the current great designers including Santiago Calatrava.

To prepare for his professional dreams, Mr. Vinson enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in architecture in 1979 and a master's degree in architecture in 1982. Upon entering the business world, he worked for Joe Rabun, a charismatic hotel architect who influenced Mr. Vinson significantly. In 1987, he spearheaded, with partners, PFVS Architecture in Atlanta, Georgia, serving as the firm's director of design and as a founding member for nearly 30 years. Upon the restructuring of ownership, he was elected president of PFVS Architecture & Interiors LLC in 2018. In this capacity, he oversees initial site planning and conceptual design of projects and manages business operations for the company.

While his professional journey has been filled with memorable moments, Mr. Vinson is especially proud of designing a home for professional boxer Evander Holyfield at the top of his boxing career. Designed in the 1990s, the 55,000-square-foot estate was set of 200 acres of land. Mr. Vinson's design received recognition in the field, leading to other large residential home projects for celebrities, such as Gary Sheffield and Brett Butler. Additionally, Mr. Vinson was honored to receive an AIA Georgia Award, Urban Planning Award and Historic Award for his work as one of three architects designing the Plant Riverside Project in Savannah. Likewise, his work has been featured in various publications, including Better Homes and Gardens.

Upon reflection on his fruitful career, Mr. Vinson attributes his success to his perseverance and confidence, as he notes that the field of architecture can have its ups and downs. Despite its challenges, his efforts have always resulted in fulfilling moments and satisfied clients. With this sentiment, his advice to all budding and aspiring architects is to have tenacity, endurance and an open mind to never stop learning. He remains abreast of his field as a charter member of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and the American Institute of Architects.

Looking toward to the future, Mr. Vinson plans to continue his successful leadership of PFVS Architects & Interiors. His goal is to continue to create refined and beautiful designs with memorable spaces, raise the bar and keep his staff and clients intrigued and happy. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, traveling and spending time with his wife of 44 years, Melinda Vinson, and their daughters, Natalie and Kelsey. As his motto goes, "Design with integrity."
