LOS ANGELES, CA, March 07, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alfred J. Paltus is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen from among a pool of the most prominent professionals and are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Born in Lithuania, Mr. Paltus immigrated to the United States in 1946 and settled into a new home in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to his natural talent for public speaking, his decision to become a history teacher was motivated by his desire to awaken young minds through the gift of knowledge. He also harbors a deep interest for ancient Greek and Roman history.

After obtaining an Associate of Arts from Los Angeles City College in 1958, Mr. Paltus earned a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from the University of California Los Angeles two years later. He concluded his education at the University of California Los Angeles in 1962, at which point he completed a Master of Arts in history. Prior to embarking on his professional career, Mr. Paltus received a lifetime teaching credential for the state of California.

From 1969 until 1980, Mr. Paltus excelled as a teacher at Horace Mann Junior High School in Los Angeles, which closed in 2018. Throughout the following three decades, Mr. Paltus thrived as a history teacher at Bell High School, which is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. During this period, he taught a variety of subjects such as government, economics, U.S. history and world history to students in 10th, 11th and 12th grade.

After accumulating more than 45 years of academic experience, Mr. Paltus issued his retirement from teaching in 2013. Earlier that year, Bell High School honored his exemplary career by selecting him for the Teacher of the Year Award in the history category. Throughout his tenure at Bell High School, Mr. Paltus developed a beloved reputation for his fascination with other academic disciplines such as science, English and mathematics. Due to his familiarity with multiple subjects and his notably passionate teaching style, his colleagues frequently asked him to serve as a substitute teacher when they were absent from school.

Mr. Paltus strongly advises aspiring educators to maintain their connection with their future students by emphasizing common interests and goals. Throughout his career, he repeatedly found that many students from a broad range of ethnic and economic backgrounds shared his lifelong thirst for knowledge. In the coming years, Mr. Paltus intends to secure a beachfront home where he can continue enjoying his well-deserved retirement. Outside of his profession, he relaxes by practicing yoga, playing chess and traveling to foreign countries.
