Since 2019, he has focused his efforts on working with the leadership team members to develop a long-term strategy for the organization, including cultivating new and existing support as well as fund development.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Ruppel worked in management for Northwestern Mutual from 1995 until 2010. During this time, he also served as the founder and executive director of Unity in Motion, which creates transformative youth development programs for children in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, from 2000 until 2019. Although he has retired from his director role, he continues to fulfill his purpose in life as a leader with the organization. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, he serves as a treasurer for the board of directors of the Hope Christian Schools Network and is a valued member of the board of directors for both Jacarrie's Kicks for Kids and the Center for Urban Teaching.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Ruppel, a 1979 graduate of Sheboygan North High School, served honorably in the United States Navy working on nuclear submarine navigation from 1980 until 1984. In recognition of his stellar military service, he was honored with a Positively Milwaukee Inspiring Veteran Award from TMJ4 Milwaukee in 2022. Following his service, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1989.
Within the coming years, Mr. Ruppel intends to continue setting up Unity in Hope School System Inc. for success, bringing in organizations and people who will continue its legacy without his involvement. With expertise in management, fundraising, leadership, development of staff and developing relationships across all lines of economic, social and racial differences, he strives to understand each person he works with, including how they are part of a team and how to bring them together as a cohesive whole.
