Now for more than 21 years he has focused his efforts on supporting AMD's largest customers to deliver high performance computing technology that helps solve many of the world's biggest challenges including national security, healthcare, leading medical research, climate change research, and sustainability.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Hampton began his career as a technical sales engineer for Advanced Micro Devices, in 2001 in Silicon Valley. He continued his career with Advanced Micro Devices for 20 years, rising to a variety of leadership positions such as Worldwide HPC & AI Sales Leader, Worldwide Commercial Pre-Sales Leader, and International Business Development Leader for Datacenter & Client Products, amongst many others. In his various leadership positions, Mr. Hampton is recognized for tremendous leadership skills with a passion for having a 'people-first' focus, and being a true inspiration for those around him. Among his professional accomplishments, he has been honored with 20 various awards, include team awards, spotlight awards and company-wide awards for his stellar work with Advanced Micro Devices. Mr. Hampton has been instrumental in helping AMD win some of its largest commercial business awards in the company's history.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Hampton earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical & computer engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2001. He chose to pursue a career that combined technology and business, with the desire to learn from different people, businesses, and cultures around the world, and a passion to lead others on a global scale.
Within the coming years, Mr. Hampton intends to focus his energy on maximizing the impact he can have at Advanced Micro Devices by mentoring and developing the next generation of talent.
