Accumulating more than 30 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Pepe has spent the last decade as a locum tenens physician working globally for various medical clinics and facilities, including the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, the Fort Pierce Florida County Jail, the Northern Navajo Medical Center in New Mexico, the Take Care Asia Urgent Care Clinic on Guam, was the CMO for the Baghdad Embassy High Threat Protection medical clinic and the CMO for the Kabul Embassy Security Force medical clinic. An expert in family medicine and urgent care, Dr. Pepe formerly served as the president of The Centre for Family Medicine and Wellness in Indialantic, Florida, between 2001 and 2011, as a physician for the Ireland Family Practice in Satellite Beach, Florida, from 1997 to 2001, and as the owner and physician of De Leon Springs Family Health Clinic in De Leon Springs, Florida, between 1989 and 1997.

Previously, Dr. Pepe owned and operated Eastcoast Medical Supply from 1991 to 1996 and was a consultant flight surgeon for DynCorps between 2000 and 2005. She also trained in, and provided, Age-Management Medicine and was a pioneer in utilizing Complementary and Alternative Medicine as part of her private family medicine clinic. Aside from her lengthy career in medicine, she has long been involved in fitness as the owner and a personal trainer of Power Gym Plus in Indian Harbor Beach, Florida, since 1996 and as the host of a monthly television segment called " The Health and Fitness Show" as well as a weekly radio talk program called "Health and Fitness with Dr. Hancock" on WMEL 920 AM from 2003 to 2008. Dr. Pepe is also the former owner and operator of De Leon Springs (Florida) Family Fitness Center. Between 1987 to 1996, her reputation in sports grew. Dr. Pepe was a contestant on the American Gladiators show (1992) and was a competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter, holding multiple local, regional, state, national, and international titles in drug-free powerlifting. She began her powerlifting career while serving as the Fort Hood Texas Powerlifting Team's physician. She has been active in martial arts since 1979, and now studies the Japanese martial art of Aikido.

Civically, Dr. Pepe is active as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the 1st Cavalry Division Association where she was a scholarship fund board member for the Florida Chapter and is the medical director for the Veterans and Volunteers of Central Florida. Previously, Dr. Pepe served as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts of America in Miami, Florida,, was a member of the De Leon Springs Florida Lions Club, volunteered her time by participating in relief efforts after Hurricane Andrew (1992) and Hurricanes Rita and Katrina (2005), and, most honorably, followed in her father's, uncles', and grandfather's footsteps by serving in the military. Dr. Pepe notably served her country in the U.S. Army as a Reserve Officer from 1984-1986 and in active duty between 1986-1990 after completing medical school, serving to the rank of captain, becoming a flight surgeon, and garnering expertise in medevac operations and as a helicopter pilot. She is an instrument-rated private pilot, NITROX-rated Advanced Open Water scuba diver, and co-owner of a SWAT school in Cedar Hill Texas.

Dr. Pepe studied at the University of Maryland where she achieved a Bachelor of Science in microbiology in 1976. She subsequently attended Nova Southeastern University where she acquired her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 1986. Additional educational pursuits to her credit include an internship at the Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, between 1986 and 1987. Dr. Pepe is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Disaster Medicine, is licensed to practice medicine in both Hawaii and Florida, and from 1992-2007 was a certified Senior Federal Aviation Administration Designated Aviation Medical Examiner. She is now a freelance Aviation Medical Consultant. Currently, with the renewed interest in space exploration, Dr. Pepe is a founding member of the newly formed Space Healthcare Policy Working Group which is working in conjunction with NASA and other agencies to formulate direction and procedures for International Board Certification in Space Medicine.

In support of her career, Dr. Pepe is a member of several industry-related organizations, including the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association. She is also a Founding Member of the American Board of Disaster Medicine, a member and past delegate of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, and a member, past president, past vice president, and former secretary of the Florida Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians which elected her as Physician of the year in 1996. Additionally, Dr. Pepe is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Recognizing her contributions, Dr. Pepe was honored with a Hometown Hero Award in Satellite Beach Florida and a Meritorious Service Award from the State of Florida.
