Prior to this role, Ms. Gallo was active as a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley from 2021 to 2022.
In 2001, Ms. Gallo began her career working as a clinical laboratory administrative assistant at John Muir Health, while concurrently serving as a teaching assistant at the City College of San Francisco from 2001 to 2002. She later garnered expertise as a freelance author at Sassafras Oil Publications from 2007 until 2009. Between 2010 and 2015, Ms. Gallo was active as an op-ed commentator and a subculture researcher at Examiner.com, followed by a post of a disability employment consultant at AbilityFirst.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Gallo pursued an education at the City College of San Francisco, where she obtained an associate's degree in anthropology in 2002, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in middle eastern studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003. She continued her academic efforts at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a Master of Arts in ancient Mediterranean and middle eastern art history and archaeology in 2022. As a commitment to her field, she completed a residency program for childhood museum education and digital curation at the Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs in 2022. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Gallo contributes to such organizations as, Courage to Refuse, the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolition, Neve Shalom Wahat Al Salam, the International Solidarity Movement, Médecins Sans Frontières, Doctors Without Borders and the Polar Bears International.
