After more than 45 years of professional excellence, Mr. Rippeth retired as a rail and track specialist and marketing specialist for Loram Maintenance of Way Inc. in Hamel, Minnesota, in 2015, a company that has been in business for seven decades and provides comprehensive maintenance of way services and equipment. Noted for his expertise in rail grinding, ballast cleaning, undercutting, and ditching, Mr. Rippeth presently works on a part-time basis as the owner and chief executive officer of his rail grinding consulting company, Rippeth's Consulating Railroad Services (RCS) Inc. in Fort Myers, Florida.

Before joining Loram, Mr. Rippeth had 30 years of experience as the director of services at CSX (formerly B&O Railroad), a freight railroad company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Promoted throughout the years, he successfully managed rail grinding on a Class One railroad from 1985 to 2000 and served as the rail services manager on a Class One railroad for 15 of those years. Additionally, Mr. Rippeth became the director of contract maintenance and rail services.

Among many other noteworthy experiences in the industry, Mr. Rippeth has conducted several presentations at world conferences in his area of expertise, including one in Brazil, one in Washington, D.C., and another at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

Committed to donating to various charitable causes, Mr. Rippeth has consistently given back to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Mr. Rippeth is a member of several industry-related organizations, including the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, the Association of American Railroads, and the Transportation Technology Center Inc.

In 1992, Mr. Rippeth was recognized by his former employer CSX with an Award of Excellence. This accolade highlighted his contributions to machine modifications for a ground rail, resulting in North America's most economic railroad. Mr. Rippeth was also noted for developing the first-ever top of low rail lubrication in the early 1990s. He credits his success and longevity in the industry to his drive, work ethic, and constant desire to find new and better ways of doing things.
