CHICAGO, IL, December 15, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- 4Medapproved, the leading provider of online education and certification resources on topics relating to Health Information Technology is focused this holiday season on raising startup funds for its new scholarship and work/study program for unemployed, displaced and underemployed workers.
While the number of unemployed in the U.S. is finally dropping, there were still over 9 million officially reported as unemployed as of November 2014. Of those, 2.9 million were without a job for 27 weeks or more. Also reported were 770,000 discouraged workers who stopped looking for employment because they believed that there were no jobs available within their current fields. During the holiday season, it is hard not to think about how this situation is affecting families nationwide.
To help grow job opportunities in the Health IT industry, 4Medapproved has expanded its core mission by creating a tuition assistance and work/study program which will launch officially in 2015. The idea is to provide access to accredited 4Medapproved online training and certification programs to those who cannot afford to attend, in order to improve their employment prospects in the New Year.
All 4Medapproved certification courses are fully accredited and allow graduates to achieve convertible college credit and continuing education units which may be applied to full degree programs at schools across the country.
With that goal in mind, all 4Medtraining.com E-Learning gift cards ordered through December 25, 2014 will be matched dollar for dollar in scholarship funds for unemployed applicants who qualify. In addition, all new and renewal sponsors of the 4Medapproved free learning lunch series and free medical community content will see 25% of their sponsor fees earmarked for this fund as well.
"The 4Medapproved team is excited to embark on this this growth project, with a plan to fund the new 4Med scholarship and work/study program," said Wendy Whitmore, Chief Information and Learning Officer of the 4MedPlus Corporation. She added, "We hope that by offering our audience a chance to contribute with limited effort during the holidays - it will bring the Health IT community together and create a spirit of generosity and prosperity which will extend to the program into the coming year."
4Medapproved.com will post all contributions on a new sponsor recognition page which will be linked to highlighted marketplace listings, so that site visitors will be able to acknowledge the benevolence of each helpful donor.
