4th Annual Jersey Club Awards Comes to Brick City

Calling all lovers of beats, tempos and lyrics. December 6, 2014 marks the 4th Annual Jersey Club Awards.

December 6, 2014 marks the 4th Annual Jersey Club Awards. The Jersey Club Awards was created to encourage and promote the creative arts such as dancing, music production, DJing, singing and poetry. Since it's inception in 2010 when a group of young individuals, with a dance team called "The Connect" wanted to have their voices heard through music decided to bring together a community of like-minded young adults, the Jersey Club Awards has quietly increased in popularity with participants and supporters spanning all the way to Miami, Florida. To funnel the efforts of these young individuals, Youth Council Teen Center Director Karen Hall felt inspired to start Project Hope, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, becoming the voice of the youth. The Jersey Club Awards is a forum to appreciate and honor those who strive for excellence.

Grammy Award Winning Hip Hop Artist Vinnie "Uncle Vin Rock" Brown of the legendary group Naughty by Nature will host this Year's event. The Jersey Club Awards will be an evening of Who's Who in the music industry as local celebrities, industry professionals and politicians come out to celebrate the youth and their significant strides in achieving excellence. The 4th Annual Jersey Club Awards will be held at the historic Newark Symphony Hall in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, December 6, 2014 and will attract families and youth from the Tri-State area with some traveling from across the country to be a part of this star-studded event. Special invited guests include Actor Marc John Jefferies, Recording Artist J Rome from NBC's Duets, NY Jets Donald Strickland, ThisIs50.com's Young Jack Thriller, Comedians Freddie Robinson from VH1's Love & Hip Hop New York, Von Decarlo from Centric's According to Him + Her, Rappers; Jim Jones, Joe Budden, Maino, DJ Envy, DJ Bobby Trends, Newark Mayor Ras Baracka, East Orange Mayor Lester E. Taylor, South Orange Mayor Alex Torpey, bestselling urban authors K'wan, Jessica Watkins, "Talk Boss" Kecia Clarke, The Apprentice's Dr. Randal Pinkett of BCT Partners and many more. There will be lots of activities going on throughout the evening starting with vendor displays, community service information, live entertainment, and refreshments followed by an awards ceremony in which deserving individuals are recognized. In between the presentation of awards, new talent who has prepared themselves all year for this day are given a chance to showcase themselves individually or with their team. The Jersey Club Awards keeps our youth off the streets and enables them to be in a productive environment, giving them something to claim as their own and look forward to. Additionally this event places them in positions to meet other youth with similar interests and aspirations. Through holding the Annual Jersey Club Awards, it is Project Hope's goal to provide an evening of fun for everyone in the participating communities and to inspire unity amongst the youth.

Project Hope is a non-profit organization classified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code founded by Karen Hall. The mission of Project Hope is to measurably improve the welfare of youth in Inner Cities of the United States through the creative arts.
