/24-7PressRelease/ -- Royal Purple invites you to come out and support the 4th Annual Royal Purple Powder Puff Race for the Cure. Hundreds of women will join together with their race teams to participate in one of the industry's largest women dominated races and help support Cedar Sinai Women's' Breast Cancer Research Center. This year's event will take place in Barstow California October 9-10, 2009.
Royal Purple is the title sponsor of the 4th Annual Powder Puff Race for the Cure, created by M.O.R.E (Mohave Off-Road Enthusiast) & DAMZL Inc. This year Royal Purple is donating $40,000 to support breast cancer research.
Last year, the race reached an all time high with more than 160 teams racing and donations raised of more than $115,000 for the Cedar Sinai Women's Breast Cancer Research Center. This year the goal is to raise more than $150,000.The Powder Puff Race for the Cure is the largest all women driver event which brings teams in from all over the country. All vehicles in the race run a 20-mile loop and compete with vehicles split up into two different heats.
"We're excited to be a part of such a phenomenal event," states Patrick Burris Motorsports Marketing Coordinator for Royal Purple. " It's the one race we participate in that's not just about winning. It's about raising awareness and money for a great cause. and honoring those who have or had breast cancer. It's also great to have fun along the way."
The Cedar Sinai's Breast Cancer Research Center reports that breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women in the United States. One study suggests, that breast cancer is second only to lung cancer in cancer-related deaths; estimating more than 180,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. In the United States, one out of nine women will develop breast cancer during her lifetime.
