NAPLES, FL, January 17, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- 4What Interactive today announced the launch of two websites for a local charity. 4What worked with Charity for Change to launch http://www.charityforchange.org and http://www.charityforchangekids.org.

Charity for Change is a nonprofit organization created to promote charitable giving as a way of life for all ages.

The Charity for Change School "Giver" Program is designed to appeal to elementary school students. The Program takes a refreshing approach to philanthropy, teaching children about helping those in need, with multiple approaches to learning and giving. The Program engages students through a character trait curriculum and innovative website. The website features a fun character, interactive games and rewards.

4What Interactive's creative team created "Giver," a lively, animated caricature of an orangutan. Amidst a backdrop of bright colors and jungle motif, "Giver" makes charity fun for kids. "We really enjoyed creating this piece for the kids and feel honored to work with such a worthwhile organization," says 4What Interactive CCO, Reid Atwood.

The website and online character support the Charity for Change School "Giver" Program. In the classroom, the students are encouraged to give pennies, nickels, dimes or quarters and practice good character traits, which follow the curriculum written by Charity for Change. Each class sets a goal and chooses a charity to support. Donations are collected and tallied weekly from the classroom banks. A gauge on the website shows each class how much money they have raised. Weekly, students go to the website to play the math game. For each correct answer, the Charity for Change Community Partners contribute an additional $1 to the classroom bank. The students also play weekly word games and puzzles to earn incentive rewards.

Online, Giver guides children through math problems, providing encouraging words after each correct answer. At end of each quiz, Giver does the "Giver Shiver." The dance seems to have caught on. At Calusa Park Elementary and Lely Elementary, where the program is being piloted, teachers report that children love it, and the entire class gets up to do the Giver Shiver.

"The Web site is a fun, interactive way for students to experience the powerful feeling that comes from helping others," says Karen Conley, President and CEO of Charity for Change. "We are inspired by the enthusiasm and participation by students, parents and teachers. During the first session, the students selected charities in keeping with the theme of food, shelter and emergency. The students at Calusa Park and Lely Elementary raised a total of $3,843.13!"
