Leveraging more two decades of excellence in nursing with a concentration in podiatry, Ms. Howe has earned distinction as a family nurse practitioner with UpperlineHealth. Since 2019, she has focused her efforts on working in the clinic, helping to serve more than 120 patients each day while treating sprains, fractures, tendinitis, ingrown nails and most foot diseases like Gout, and diabetic ulcers. Additionally, she lends her expertise as a valued member of the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners, the Emergency Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Howe began her career as a nurse practitioner with the Florida Emergency Physicians of TEAMHealth in 2013. She then served in four different clinics from 2020 until 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Also dedicated to civil advocacy, she volunteers her expertise as a school nurse for St. Luke's Lutheran School and for her local church, taking blood pressure at church fairs to help community members gain access to health care.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Howe is proud to have been named a Top Performing Nurse Practitioner in Patient Satisfaction by the Florida Emergency Physicians of TEAMHealth in 2013. She was also honored with Certificates of Recognition in Quality Patient Care from 2015 through 2017 for her stellar work there.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Howe earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida. Following this achievement, she attained a Master of Science in Nursing in family nursing practice from the same institution in 2011. While pursuing her education, she was involved in a research project at the University of Central Florida on restrictions on patient sedation, especially in pediatric patients, in the emergency department Well-qualified in her field, she holds certifications in basic life support, pediatric advanced life support and advanced cardiac life support from the American Heart Association. A registered nurse, she is board-certified in emergency medicine and is a board-certified family nurse practitioner.
Within the coming years, Ms. Howe intends to lay the foundation for nurses to apply their skills to improve patient care in podiatry. She plans to establish a nurse practitioners association in podiatry, supporting the growth and education for herself and other nurses in the field.
