Furthermore, he has in-depth knowledge of technology audits, due diligence analysis, and infringement and freedom to operate opinions. Because of his undergraduate background in biochemistry, Mr. Ihnen has also successfully prepared and prosecuted patent applications for numerous high-profile genes such as the BRCA1 and BRCA2 breast cancer genes.

Mr. Ihnen received a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and mathematics at Wartburg College in 1973, a Master of Science in biochemistry at the University of Iowa in 1976, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence at George Washington University in 1980. He has been admitted to practice by the District of Columbia Bar and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
