Since 2023, she has focused her efforts on serving in any capacity where she is needed, from the intensive care unit (ICU) to the emergency room. Passionate about her profession, she is grateful that her work affords her opportunities to learn new skills and develop her abilities to help her patients more effectively.
In addition to her role with Cox South, Ms. Rice has served at Lee's Summit Medical Center in Lee's Summit, MO, and as a registered nurse and travel nurse with RTG Medical and Supplemental Health since 2020. To prepare for her career in healthcare, she earned an associate's degree in nursing from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Rice is proud to have lent her expertise as a charge nurse for the ICU at Freeman Health, where she would monitor the patients and perform cardioversion when needed. She is also glad that she was able to take time away from work when her husband contracted COVID-19 in 2021 and had to undergo intubation. However, still employing her skillset, she was able to competently advocate for his health, catching potential mistakes before they occurred.
Within the coming years, Ms. Rice intends to return to a hospital setting where she can work full-time as a charge nurse or a nurse educator. She greatly enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge to the new nurses, guiding the next generation of professionals to provide the best possible care.
