In this capacity, he is responsible for establishing and directing the implementation of programs, project management, providing professional training and consultative services in the areas of health education, healthcare administration, human services, foreign aid and economic development, managing budgets, fundraising and more. During this time, he was also active as a professor at The University of Arizona Global Campus (formerly Ashford University) from 2009 to 2021, American Intercontinental University from 2001 to 2009, and at the Strayer University School of Business from 2014 until 2019. Dr. Ordu also worked for a period of time as a Professor and Program Chair of the Health Sciences department at Novena University from 2009 to 2011.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Ordu pursued an education at Central Michigan University, where he obtained a Master of Science in Health Services Administration. He continued his academic efforts at Walden University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Care Administration and Management. As a commitment to his field, he has been certified in Executive and Advanced Leadership via the National Society of Leadership and Success in 2022. Additionally, he has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the People's Club of Nigeria International, the National & Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives, Fulbright Association, Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), and the 100 Black Men of America Inc. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Ordu has contributed as well as volunteered services to the Rivers State Foundation, the Atlanta Union Mission, and the Gwinnett Coalition.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Dr. Ordu has received multiple awards, including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award (2023), the Man-Made Award (2018), the Career Education Corporation (CEC) National Academic Leadership & Educator of the Year Award (2009), Distinguished Alumni Award from Walden University (2009) and the Ozuzu-Etche Aladimna Academic Award (2010). He was named Professor Emeritus and Dean of Expansion for Africa in 2023 by GODSU (Global Oved Dei Seminary & University), where he also serves on the Board of Governors. Additionally, he has been featured in multiple editions of the Walden Alumni Magazine and recognized by Marquis Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals in 1996. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud to have impacted the field of education through his published books: Power to the People (2021), and Management Problems in Rivers State Nigeria Hospitals (2009). Dr. Ordu also facilitated ground-breaking efforts for Walden University to become an educational opportunity in Nigeria. Reflecting on his achievements, he attributes much of his success to his Christian faith, which has guided and motivated him to succeed. Looking toward the future, Dr. Ordu aspires to expand the scope of his career by investing in information technology (IT) to help empower the youth in Africa and hopes to establish an IT training center in Rivers State, Nigeria.
