Stan Frinak serves as an expert in dialysis and chronic kidney disease technology



Since 1976, he has built a prolific career as a research engineer for the department of nephrology at Henry Ford Health.

    FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, July 13, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stan Frinak, MSEE, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on close to five decades of expertise, Mr. Frinak specializes in dialysis and chronic kidney disease technology. Since 1976, he has built a prolific career as a research engineer for the department of nephrology at Henry Ford Health. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing new technology for the treatment of chronic kidney and end-stage renal diseases, designing a computer model for administration Aranesp® a long-lasting form of erythropoietin, engineering a hemodialysis access surveillance system that monitors a dialysis patient's access sites for potential failure during each dialysis treatment, and providing a safe system for regional citrate anticoagulation of dialysis circuits for use in intensive care units. Mr. Frinak initially began his vocation serving as a research engineer at the Max-Planck-Institute for System Physiology, Dortmund, Germany from 1974 to 1976, followed by a post of a senior research assistant at the University of Pittsburgh from 1976 until 1978.

Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Frinak pursued an education at The Pennsylvania State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science. He continued his academic efforts at Wayne State University, earning a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1987. In his career-related endeavors, Mr. Frinak has attained several patents, including a patent for the method of monitoring dislodgement of venous needles in dialysis patients, the methods of determining the presence and or concentration of analyte in a sample, the system and method for delivery of regional citrate anticoagulation to extracorporeal blood circuits, access pressure ratio device and testing method for surveillance of a dialysis patient's access and more.

Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Frinak is most proud of his patents, research and technology that have been utilized for the treatment of chronic kidney diseases and dialysis, and of his ability to impact as many individuals as possible through his specialty. Reflecting on a long career, he attributes much of his success to his determination. Looking toward the future, Mr. Frinak aspires to publish his research on venous needle dislodgement and hopes to attain approval for the venous needle dislodgement detection patent to be implemented on dialysis machines for patient safety.
