Drawing on over three decades of expertise, Dr. Reaves specializes in business accounting and education. Dr. Reaves spent her career as an accounting professional in various firms, industries, and capacities. Having been exposed to organizations of all sizes including global organizations, she has obtained knowledge in international accounting, complex intercompany accounting, and financial analysis.
Throughout the last seven years, Dr. Reaves has also been an accounting and business educator. While working full time as a corporate accountant, she concurrently served as an affiliate/adjunct faculty member at the Metropolitan State University of Denver and Colorado State University teaching introductory accounting and intermediate accounting. She was also recently promoted to the stature of advanced tutor for Princeton Review where she has continually worked part-time.
As a commitment to her field in accounting, she has been certified as a public accountant via the Colorado State Board of Accountancy and as a member with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Reaves volunteers at the Food Bank for Larimer County. She has served as the treasurer for the Rocky Mountain Conference of United Methodist Women and the treasurer for the Denver chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, organizations concerned with social issues.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Reaves pursued an education at Colorado State University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1986. Dr. Reaves obtained a Master of Business Administration in accounting from Regis University in 2000. She continued her academic efforts at Walden University, earning a doctorate degree in business administration (specifically social impact management) in 2018.
It was in her doctoral journey that Dr. Reaves studied the importance of social and environmental issues for long-term success in businesses. As part of her doctoral journey, she completed a doctoral study on the strategic management of climate change in business, specifically those in the agricultural sector. The study is titled "Successful Climate Change Strategies in Corporate Farming in North America." In 2019, Dr. Reaves published an article in the Journal of Sustainable Social Change based on her doctoral study titled "Successful Climate Change Strategies in Corporate Farming." Her graphical image of the relationship of core themes in climate change strategies has been copyrighted.

Dr. Reaves was accepted into the Golden Key International Honour Society in 2018, a recognition of her academic achievement in her doctoral journey from Walden University. Additionally, she was honored as an Alpha Sigma Nu Centennial award winner by Regis University in 2015 where she was chosen among other Alpha Sigma Nu members for outstanding scholarship, loyalty, and service to the community. She was initially awarded the honor of Alpha Sigma Nu in 2000 by Regis University for her academic achievement and service to others.
Among her professional accomplishments, Dr. Reaves is most proud to have earned her doctorate degree in social impact management, and to be able to serve as an accountant and an educator.
