Since 2016, she has focused her efforts on serving as a strategic resource in a corporate capacity, administering processes for employee relations, onboarding, compensation, and talent acquisition. Leading the corporate office in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she strives to build positive relationships with people in all levels of the company, managing and resolving any issues with employees as they arise with effective and thorough investigations. Prior to her current role, Ms. Walkup began her career as a human resources analyst moving upward to the management field as the human resources manager with Carpentree, Inc. in 2008, where she planned, led and supervised the recruitment of employees, employee retention and performance reviews. While there, she also maintained the employee handbook and developed a corporate culture centered on high quality, continuous improvement and strong performances from all employees and managers. Following this time, she served as the human resources manager for BFN, Operations in 2014, handling the department's daily functions as well as guiding and developing strategic plans to resolve organizational and staffing issues as they arose.
To prepare for her professional journey, Ms. Walkup graduated from the University Language Institute at Oral Roberts University with a certificate in English as a second language studies in 1996 and earned an Associate of Science in human resources from Tulsa Community College in 2000. Following these achievements, she attained a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from St. Gregory's University in 2012. Well-qualified in her field, she gained a certificate of effective management and leadership from the OSU Spears School of Business in 2017 as well as a certificate of achievement from the Society of Human Resources Management in 2021, among other credentials.
Within the coming years, Ms. Walkup intends to further her education by attaining different certificate programs for the future of work, dedicated to accepting constructive feedback and improving her skills.
