Tina Bertelle Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Ms. Bertelle celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Bertelle is an experienced health care professional and advocate who serves as the director of development and education and as the director of client engagement at Walkthru Live. A company specializing in virtual reality, it focuses on helping to lessen the feeling of social isolation in assisted living facilities. Responsible for educating the medical community, family members, and the public about how the WalkThru virtual reality platform can be implemented on all levels of care and memory impairment, Ms. Bertelle also focuses on those that suffer from attention deficit hyper disorder and depression due to COVID-19 isolation. Additionally, she has found success with Serna Solutions, a counseling and mental health facility, as a family empowerment outreach officer since 2021.

In addition to her primary career goals, Ms. Bertelle became involved in Alzheimer's advocacy after her grandfather had been diagnosed with the disease and was mistreated at an assisted living facility. She spent nearly a decade as a running coach and self-employed fitness trainer for Alzheimer's Fitness from 2012 to 2021. She also served as an activities director at Sunshine Retirement Living between 2017 and 2020. Among other noteworthy roles, Ms. Bertelle was the director of resident engagement at Spring Hills Memory Care Community in 2017 and an activities director at The Rose of Poway from 2010 to 2012.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Bertelle aims to continue advocating for those that cannot speak for themselves, whether in music, aromatherapy, culture, language, health care, or mental health. Once she retires, she also hopes to continue serving the public and begin advocating for the elderly population so they can receive the highest quality of care.

Ms. Bertelle has volunteered as a recovery support peer specialist for a local peer support program. She has also volunteered with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, an organization that provides comprehensive dementia education to health care professionals, front-line staff, and first responders, and the Austin Dog Alliance, a nonprofit organization that provides trained service dogs to disabled veterans and responders who reside in Texas. She was notably featured in the Austin Women's Magazine for her contributions to the Alliance. Ms. Bertelle is also active with Drum Corps International, the Alzheimer's Impact Movement, and the Alzheimer's Congressional Bipartisan Committee for Residents' Rights and has served as a webinar presenter for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

After high school, Ms. Bertelle studied horticulture and medical cannabis at the University of New Mexico. Well-qualified in her industry, she received cannabis certification in Texas and certification as a Montessori dementia care professional, dementia practitioner, recovery support peer specialist in Texas, activity director in California, and peer support worker.

Honoring her accomplishments, Ms. Bertelle received recognition at the 2017 Life Builders' Luncheon at the Jewish Community Center in Austin.
