Leveraging more than 35 years of excellence in government relations, business development, and legislative engagement, Mr. Valadez has earned distinction as the founder of Valadez and Associates LLC. Since the end of 2020, he has focused his efforts on seeking win-win opportunities between their clients and local and state elected officials, fostering better communication and advocacy. He also assists clients with business development and finance facilitation, providing risk analysis, business plan development, strategic development, marketing, and sales consulting. Additionally, he has been a valued member of The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, served as a Board Member of the Arizona-Mexico Commission, is a Chairman of the board for the Higher Ground A Resource Center, and a Board Member of La Frontera.
Before establishing his firm, Mr. Valadez began his career as an electrical engineering intern with IBM in 1986 and became a Staff Assistant for the United States Senate in 1989. He continued his career as a Staff Assistant for the United States House of Representatives in 1991 and was a Special Staff Assistant for the Board of Supervisors in District Two of Pima County, Arizona, in 1994. Three years later, he served in elected office as a State Representative for Arizona until he was elected as a State Senator in 2001. He ran for re-election in 2002 in the newly redistricted District 29, winning the election but yielding the position to Victor Soltero to serve on the Governor's senior staff.
During this time, Mr. Valadez served as a Senior Staff member for the Governor's office in Arizona, specializing in economic development issues. Later in 2003, he was appointed and later elected to serve as a County Supervisor for Pima County and also served as a Regional Council member for the Pima Association of Governments from 2003 until 2020. Additionally, he was an independent consultant with Zurvita, Inc. in 2015, a real estate investor for VL Associates in 2013, and a private lender with 2829 Tierra Buena LLC in 2016, leaving these positions in 2020 as well. Added to these roles, he is proud to have helped found and has served as a board member for the Regional Transportation Authority in Tucson, Arizona, from 2006 until 2020. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of MedCare2U for a year and a half. He also was the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Big Results Academy in 2019. He was a partner and director of Southern Arizona for Total Spectrum and Associates for two years, starting at the end of 2020.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Valadez was named Legislator of the Year by the County Supervisors Association of Arizona for his dedicated legislative work. He was honored to serve as an Honorary Commander of the 355th EMS Squadron at David-Monthan Air Force Base. He has also received Presidential Citations from LULAC and a Public Service Award from the University of Arizona Alumni Association. He was recently recognized by Top 100 Innovators and Entrepreneurs magazine in their 2023 edition.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Valadez earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1989. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Business Administration in 2022. Additionally, he is an American Heart Association-certified CPR instructor.
Within the coming years, Mr. Valadez intends to grow his firm beyond Arizona and California into multiple states throughout the southwest. He is continually motivated by a strong desire to serve his community, both as an elected official and, now, as a servant leader to his clients through his firm.
