Drawing on over three decades of expertise, Ms. Anton-Lotruglio specializes in education and social work. Her proficiency in her field extends to her most recent positions as a clinical social work intern at Behavioral Health Services North Inc. and at Schenectady County Jail Youth L.I.F.E. Support Network Inc. Before this role, Ms. Anton-Lotruglio was active as an assistant women's lacrosse coach and recruiting coordinator at Bard College.
Ms. Anton-Lotruglio began her career as an administrative assistant at Hofstra University, later becoming the senior assistant dean of the New College at Hofstra University. Following this post, she was appointed director of admissions and public relations at the New York School of Interior Design from 1995 to 1996. She subsequently served as the assistant dean of academic support services and as the director of the campus tutoring center at Hofstra University. More recently, Ms. Anton-Lotruglio utilized her experience as an NCAA Division I athlete by becoming the head lacrosse coach at the Saratoga Springs City School District, a volunteer coach at Harlem Lacrosse, and an assistant coach at Bard College.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Anton-Lotruglio pursued her undergraduate degree at Hofstra University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in creative studies with a focus in fine arts in 1990, followed by a Master of Arts in higher education administration from Columbia University Teachers College in 1997. In 2021, she returned to school after a 25-year hiatus to pursue a doctoral degree at the School of Social Welfare at the State University of New York in Albany, in the joint MSW/Ph.D. program. She received the Master of Social Work degree in May 2023. As a commitment to her field, she attained a mental health first aid certification offered by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and was trained in Livingworks Applied Suicide Interventional Skills Training (ASIST). Ms. Anton-Lotruglio has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the American Association of Suicidology, the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the International Association of Suicide Prevention, and the National Association of Social Workers.
In reflecting on her professional career, Ms. Anton-Lotruglio is most proud of being a life-long learner and her ability to excel in varied fields. She attributes much of her success to her unwavering optimism and determination. Moreover, she is grateful for the support of her mentors, mainly past professors who encouraged and influenced her personal and professional journey. Looking toward the future, Ms. Anton-Lotruglio aspires to contribute more to her field by publishing scholarly articles on effective adolescent and young-adult suicide prevention methods.
