Leveraging more than a decade of excellence in industrial pump applications, Mr. Ndonga has earned distinction as an application engineering expert with SKF. Since 2019, he has focused his efforts on reviewing industrial pump designs for his clients, giving them recommendations for their shaft and bearing arrangements and conducting bearing inspections or analyses for damaged or failed bearings. He also troubleshoots field applications for people who use fluid machinery, operators or designers. Mr. Ndonga has also been dedicated to improving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in his organization and in the industry.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Ndonga began his career as a mechanical engineering research assistant at Rowan University in 2006. Following his graduation, he was an energy consultant with CUC Global, Inc. in 2010 and a product tester for Crestron Electronics the same year. In 2012, he became a maintenance mechanic for Walgreens and served as an inside sales engineer for Sunair Co. until 2014. He continued his career as an applications engineering for SKF from 2014 until 2019. Among his professional accomplishments, he was recognized for exemplifying the Successful SKF 11 Behaviors and received an Excellence Award by SKF for the contribution he made in the development of a bearing analysis and reporting tool. He was also nominated for Industry Person of the Week by Empowering Pumps and Equipment.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ndonga has also contributed a wealth of research to his field, starting with authoring "Magneto Rheological Elastomers" for the Rowan University Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Symposium and "Airlift Technology Models: Predictive Tools for System Performance and Optimization for the 2008 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Annual Meeting. He also presented his work at the ASTM National Symposium on Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics and the LACCEI Latin American and Caribbean Conference for Engineering and Technology, among other professional conferences. Most recently, he wrote "What Are Angular Contact Ball Bearings?" in 2021 for Pump Engineer magazine and "Tips for Bearing in Machine Maintenance" in 2019 for Pumps and Systems magazine.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Ndonga earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rowan University in 2009. Well-qualified in his field, he is a certified Level I machinery lubrication technician with the International Council for Machinery Lubrication.
