Mr. Cabarlo is distinguished for more than 40 years of dedication to the physical therapy profession. At the Cookeville Regional Medical Center, he utilizes his expertise in acute therapy to provide personalized assistance to patients in the intensive care and critical care units. A leader among his peers, he has excelled in his current position for the past 18 years and was the winner of a 2022 Sunshine Award.
Prior to joining the staff of Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Mr. Cabarlo was the owner of Progressional Rehab and a physical therapist at Pennsylvania Hospital. He also conducted physical therapy sessions with patients through home health visits, even walking five miles in the Texas heat to see his earliest patients, before he owned a car.
An exceptionally hard worker, Mr. Cabarlo was inspired to enter the physical therapy profession during his experiences volunteering at an orthopedic hospital and at a leper colony, where he assisted individuals with walking and assistive devices. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he earned a bachelor's degree from the Perpetual Help College of Medicine in 1982, the same year that he immigrated to the United States.
Outside of work, Mr. Cabarlo is married to another physical therapist, and together they have two children, one of whom just graduated with a degree in computer science. In the coming years, he plans to retire, though he will continue to be engaged in the profession to inspire the next generation of physical therapists.
