Alongside his work, Mr. Walker contributes to his community as a member in the Dallas Symphony Chorus, plays for a choir at a senior living village in Dallas, contributes his talents to the music ministry at First Baptist Church Plano, Texas, and serves as an accompanist for musical events and competitions in the Dallas-Ft. Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Walker earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Southern Methodist University. Subsequently, he expanded upon his professional knowledge, earning a Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University and a Level Three Kòdaly Certificate from the University of North Texas. Driven to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, Mr. Walker maintains affiliation with the Texas Music Educators Association and the Association of Texas Professional Educators. Mr. Walker has also been awarded Texas Lifetime PTA membership.
In recognition of his outstanding body of work, Mr. Walker was named an Outstanding Teacher through Lakeshore Learning Store and HEB Foodstores, as well as Teacher of the Year through the Richardson Independent School District, which has been one of the highlights of his career thus far. The cornerstone of his success lies in his extensive support system and the mentors he has had in the industry. Looking ahead, Mr. Walker intends to enjoy eventual retirement from public school teaching and remain open to new opportunities.
