BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC, August 30, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark Henegan has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A locally known restauranter, Mr. Henegan established The Bush Farmhouse in Black Mountain, North Carolina, a local eatery specializing in serving food and drink inspired by his home country of South Africa. Managing all aspects of the business, from front-of-house to back-of-house operations, he notably serves as the restaurant's head chef. Preparing unique, homecooked meals from quality ingredients, Mr. Henegan's recipes include fresh produce and herbs straight from his garden.

Focusing on making his customers happy through food, Mr. Henegan offers a large selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, an extensive South African wine list, and other beverage items. He also provides a very casual environment comprising outdoor seating overlooking the land. From eggs and French toast to steak and branzino, every meal is personally prepared by Mr. Henegan outside on a grill and flattop. Formerly recognized as Roots and Fruits, The Bush Farmhouse also serves as a home to several rescue animals, including two mini donkeys, several Pekin ducks, and roosters.

Mr. Henegan immigrated to the U.S. in 1987 at age 20 after garnering recognition as the youngest pianist to play at Southern Suns Hotels. He subsequently worked for several renowned restaurants in New York City, including Bayard and il Buco. In 1999, Mr. Henegan opened Madiba in Brooklyn, New York. During that time, his highly acclaimed restaurant served such famed individuals as Jay Z, Beyonce, the South African Consulate, and Paul Simon. Mr. Henegan also served members of the United Nations, HBO Films, and more. After 20 successful years, he relocated south and opened The Bush Farmhouse. Mr. Henegan is notably a self-taught culinary expert.

In support of local and worldwide humanitarian efforts, Mr. Henegan participates in various initiatives. He is also active with Global Leaf.

Mr. Henegan received recognition from the Mayor of New York during his years as a business owner. He was also featured in a 2021 article in Citizen-Times and a 2022 article in Black Mountain News. Attributing much of his good fortune to his work ethic, he also notes his charm, which goes a long way in the hospitality industry. Looking ahead, Mr. Henegan aims to publish his first cookbook and a memoir about his life story.
