Timothy C. Burry Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Education and Humanitarian Work

Timothy C. Burry celebrates more than 28 years as an educator for students



Mr. Burry has excelled as an associate online instructor for the University of Arizona since 2019.

    AMES, IA, August 31, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Timothy C. Burry has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on more than 28 years of experience as an educator, Mr. Burry has excelled as an associate online instructor for the University of Arizona since 2019. In this capacity, he works on behalf of the Center of Teaching Excellence and Learning and specializes in honing his students' abilities to improve their lives through their academic work.. Mr. Burry also focuses on preparing his students for prosperous careers in various fields, as well as helping students from foreign nations improve their proficiency with the English language.

Alongside his responsibilities with the University of Arizona, Mr. Burry found further success as an instructor at Iowa Central Community College between 2017 and 2022, during which time he taught life skills to inmates at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. Prior to this role, he had excelled as an online faculty member and as the co-director of administration for South Korea's University of Suwon from 2012 to 2018, having previously served as a professor of liberal arts at Luther University in Yongin, South Korea from 2008 until 2013. During this period, he was simultaneously appointed as a teacher and as a student life officer for the Korean campus of Dallas Baptist University. Throughout the course of his professional journey in education, Mr. Burry has held numerous administrative responsibilities in course development, faculty coordination, collaborating with local institutions, and drafting orientation guidelines for his colleagues, among many other duties. To commemorate his work in this regard, the University of Suwon notably bestowed him with an Administrative Excellence Award.

Prior to his career as an educator, Mr. Burry worked as a transportation logistics manager and trainer for SP Plus. In this capacity, he was responsible for the training of all incoming drivers in Texas Department of Transportation rules and regulations, as well as enhancing the customer service program. Previously, Mr. Burry served as a logistics specialist and member of the Chaplaincy Corps in the United States Army for more than 10 years. In recognition of his military service, he was honored with multiple accolades, including a Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Burry studied business and communications at Dallas Baptist University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2007. Following this accomplishment, he graduated with a master's degree in higher education in 2011. Mr. Burry subsequently attended Liberty University, from which he attained an Education Specialist degree in curriculum and instruction in 2015.

Outside of his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Burry worked extensively both domestically and abroad in various humanitarian pursuits – from 1989 to 1996, he traveled throughout Europe and in Dallas, Texas, volunteering with a number of advocacy programs, including Youth With A Mission, Club Beyond, Arise Romania, and Ecce Homo. Throughout this period, he taught English to Romanian children and families, led Bible studies at local churches, and served on behalf of immigrant communities in Dallas.

Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Burry is most proud to have served as a coordinator for his fellow teachers while living in Korea, during which time he interviewed, counseled, led various cohort groups and helped orient his colleagues as they adapted to life among a foreign culture. Looking toward the future, he aspires to obtain a full-time position at the University of Arizona and devote more of his attention to providing mentorship on behalf of his students, helping them as they struggle to overcome personal obstacles.
