During the early stages of her career, Dr. Magnavaca de Paula gained valuable expertise in architecture and construction management as owner of GUMA Architecture and Construction.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Magnavaca de Paula earned a Bachelor of Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Subsequently, she studied urban infrastructure evaluation and received a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal de Uberlandia. Currently, she is a PhD student in Civil Engineering at the University of Central Florida, developing studies in sustainable building. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Magnavaca de Paula aligns herself with the U.S. Green Building Council and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Magnavaca de Paula takes the most pride in completing her Master's degree and PhD, and establishing a construction company in Brazil alongside her husband. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her overall success to her belief that everyone is capable of achieving their dreams and operating outside of their comfort zone.
