Dr. Dennis Law, of Denver, Colorado is recognized by the International Association of Who's Who as one of the Most Influential & Inspiring Entrepreneurs

DENVER, CO, September 08, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Dennis Law retired from a career as a well-known surgeon in Denver, Colorado in 2001. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, he practiced for twenty years as a general, thoracic and vascular surgeon and held an academic appointment as Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Law retired in the year 2000 because of burdensome oversight of government and insurance. During his medical career, he and his brothers donated to the Perelman School of Medicine the Joseph and Loretta Law Auditorium and the Law Family Pavilion at the Jordan Education Building in tribute to their parents. In May of 2023, Dr. Law was invited back to his alma mater to give a commencement speech to the 2023 Penn Med graduation class on the occasion of his 50th year reunion.

Dr. Law's non-medical career started with the entertainment industry and with the production of Warriors of Virtue in 1996, a US$30 million family feature film distributed by MGM in the United States, and by Warner Brothers and Columbia Artists worldwide. In China, Dr. Law also later produced a prize-winning CCTV children's film, Xiwa, as well as the acclaimed television series, April Rhapsody. After the acquisition of The Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts in 2002, a state-of-the-art Broadway theater in Canada, Dr. Law became the CEO and President of The Centre and its associated production company, Sight, Sound & Action. To support his unique productions of "Action-Musicals", he founded Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International in Beijing.

In the first phase of his interest in musical theater, Dr. Law wrote, produced and directed a large number of important productions including Of Heaven & Earth, Terracotta Warriors, Senses, Heartbeat, Tang Concubines, Phoenixia, Heartbeat Hawaii, Monkey King and Senses-Las Vegas Ed. & Terracotta Warriors 3D. These works have been performed nearly a thousand times in major venues of many cities in North America and China – a feat that is without equal in the history of Chinese performing arts. In 2005, Dr. Law was nominated for a Toronto Dora Award for Best Direction of a Musical (for Heartbeat). In addition, Sight, Sound & Action garnered a total of seven Dora nominations and three Dora awards. In 2011, Monkey King became the first theatrical work ever to be produced as a 3D high-definition large screen digital movie, and in 2012 won the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the first Korean 3D Film Festival and also the 3D Gold Award from The Prestige Film Award of California. In 2014, Dr. Law produced and directed Terracotta Warriors 3D as the world's first 3D theatrical stage show, and in 2015, another world's first was accomplished when this musical was successfully shot and produced into the first 3D Blu-Ray DVD of a live 3D show.

Ode to Nature, a new "theatrical symphonic poem", was Dr. Law and Sight, Sound & Action newest production in 2016 and marks the beginning of his productions returning home to Denver and the United States. In the fall of 2017, Dr. Law redirected his interest into electronic music and started the Dennis Law Center of Arts & Technology and produced and directed additional musical theater, War & Peace, Kungfu Organ and Ms. Butterfly, that combines multicultural arts and evolving digital technologies in order to provide new soundscapes and enrich entertainment content for all audiences. He founded the annual international Denny Awards for Electronic Music as well as the Denver International Festival for Arts & Technology and the former has become a significant tour de force for electronic music in China. In October 2023, he will launch world premiere performances of Mozart Requiem Evermore, an unprecedented attempt to turn a classical masterpiece into a modern-day dance musical in a 19th church for electronic musical instruments that is filled with theatrical and visual splendor.

Over the last five years, Dennis Law's career has lead him into the field of hospitality as he developed the wilderness paradise resort, Canyon Madness Ranch (www.canyonmadnessranch.com) and bought several magnificent villas in or near Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico (www.cabobajaluxuryvacation.com). All these unique properties allow Dr. Law the opportunity to share these architectural wonders in unique locations for all vacationers.

The Dennis and Alyssa Law Foundation made a recent gift of Chinese antiquities to the Denver Art Museum in honor of their parents, Joseph & Loretta Law. Many of these items are in the Asian Galleries for permanent exhibition. The Asian Department curator has hailed the donation as probably the most significant in this classification for the last fifty years.
