A dream to open a restaurant that was once shared with her husband Joe before his passing, Ms. Krizner chose to move forward with their plans in 2013. She has since developed a large following with regular customers that frequent her eatery. When she is not busy managing operations, Ms. Krizner enjoys spending her free time with her daughter, who lives nearby and helps with the business and acts as her general manager. Fortunate to have hired a great team of loyal employees committed to the success of Joe's Oasis, she is now considering opening a second location.
Shortly after she first opened, Ms. Krizner was featured in the Wilmington Biz in 2013, highlighting the new restaurant in town. The pub was also included in a 2019 article in StarNews Online for filming "Man v. Food." Joe's Oasis was part of the show, introducing its five-pound pierogi eating challenge.
A dedicated civil advocate, Ms. Krizner is heavily engaged in working with organizations that serve veterans. She notably raised $8,000 for one who had become paralyzed and needed assistance. Consequently, Ms. Krizner has received numerous awards from veteran organizations recognizing her contributions.
An alumnus of Carlow University, a private Catholic university in Pittsburgh, Ms. Krizner received a Bachelor of Science in English literature and psychology in 1993. Before transitioning into business ownership, she was a career counselor in Pennsylvania at Career Link System.
