Mr. Myers initially began his career working as a maintenance engineer at Champion International Paper and a project engineer at Harriman Paperboard Corp from 1979 to 1983. Following this post, he contributed to the Tennessee Valley Authority, where he served as a mechanical engineer from 1983 until 1988. Between 1988 and 2012, he built a prolific career as a mechanical engineer to a senior technical adviser at BE&K Engineering, Inc, which was acquired by KBR, Inc. Subsequently, Mr. Myers excelled as an engineering specialist and a mechanical department manager at Robins and Morton from 2012 to 2016.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Myers pursued an education at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1979. As a commitment to his field, he has been licensed as a professional engineer and active as a member with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Myers volunteers at his local church and contributes to various charities in his community.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Myers has received multiple awards, including the Pi Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud to have standardized the supporting pipe system for all the projects at one the companies that he previously worked for. Reflecting on a long career, he attributes much of his success to his inherent abilities, mathematical aptitude and guiding principles, as well as his father, who encouraged him to pursue his vocational path.
