An experienced accountant with more than a decade's worth of a wide variety of skills ranging from monthly accounting to tax returns, Mrs. Novak has earned distinction as a Pharmacy Accountant with Sykes and Company, P.A. Since 2022, she has focused her efforts on handling accounting for various independent pharmacies such as financial statement preparation, tax filings, monthly accounting, as well as assisting with tax planning and quarterly payroll returns. Additionally, she has lent her expertise as a Finance Manager for Christ the King Lutheran Church since 2019 and presents finance reports to the Church Council. She is also a valued member of the American Payroll Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Prior to her current role, Mrs. Novak began her career as an Administrative Assistant for the Pembine School District in 2008 assisting with budget planning, bank reconciliations and accounts receivable and accounts payable until taking a role as Staff Accountant for Anderson, Tackman and Company, PLC in 2012. This position is where Mrs. Novak proliferated her variety of skills in accounting. In 2018, she left the CPA firm and became a Financial Accountant for Great North Bank where she handled the internal financials and assisted with budgeting and forecasting. She held positions on the Finance Committee, ALCO Committee, and Information Security Committee. In 2022, Mrs. Novak became a Staff Accountant with Sykes and Company, P.A. and was promoted to Senior Staff Accountant later that year. In 2023, she was promoted to Pharmacy Accountant. She currently holds positions on the Sales Tax Committee, Payroll Committee, 1099 Committee, and Tax Committee.
To prepare for her professional journey, Mrs. Novak started coursework in English Language and Literature at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College ending up switching majors and earned an AAS in Accounting in 2013. Well-qualified in her field, she is certified in Bill.com for accounts payable and accounts receivable and certified as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor with Intuit, among other credentials.
Within the coming years, Mrs. Novak intends to complete a BS in Accounting and sit for the CPA Exam and become a Certified Public Accountant. Her goal is to become a shareholder at Sykes and Company, P.A.
