Throughout his career, he continued to emphasize study and continuing education, completing coursework at San Jose State University, San Jose City College, California Polytechnic College, and the University of Miami in addition to pursuing extensive independent study and training opportunities.

Before his retirement from the company in 2008, Mr. Laird had risen to the role of senior distribution supervisor, and he considers his achievements in this role to be among the proudest of his career. In addition to his innovations for Silicon Valley Power, Mr. Laird excelled as a fine dining chef working in several notable restaurants and launched a career as an independent writer and memoirist. He has published two books, "Clinton's Story: A Cadet's Travail," an autobiography with a focus on his early years and academic growth, and "A Collection of Unidentified Flying Object Phenomena."
Reflecting on his success, Mr. Laird considers the lessons he learned in military school and his natural ability to read people to have been key to his personal growth throughout his life. He is proud to have reached high levels of distinction across several industries, and looks forward to continuing to focus on writing and publishing in the coming years. Outside his professional pursuits, Mr. Laird enjoys travel and hopes to dedicate more time to exploring new locales in the near future.
