    WICHITA, KS, October 05, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Maurice H. V. Strickland, MD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Leveraging more than four decades of excellence in treating allergic and immunologic diseases, Dr. Strickland has earned distinction as the owner of M H V Strickland, MD. Since 2000, he has focused his efforts on seeing 20 to 30 patients daily at his independent practice. He works hard for every patient, being caring and proficient in the practice of medicine. Additionally, he serves as a diplomate for the Board of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and is on the advisory board for the Kansas College of Chinese Medicine.

Among his professional accomplishments, Dr. Strickland was named one of the Top Doctors of Wichita in 2007. He also was admitted as a fellow to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, the American Association of Certified Allergists and the American College of Physicians. He has also been treating a patient with muscular dystrophy by administering mesenchymal stem cells for several years, which is the subject of an upcoming documentary.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Strickland worked at the Wichita Clinic for three years and at Wyoming Chest and Allergy for a year. He subsequently joined the Olive Garvey Center for the Improvement of Human Functioning until taking a role at the Doctors Center in Garland, earning a promotion to the director of clinical services during his tenure. After working at American Allergy Associates, he functioned as a private practitioner at various hospitals starting in 1990 until becoming a volunteer clinical associate professor for the University of Kansas Medical School where he currently teaches courses on pediatric asthma and allergic conditions.

To prepare for his career in healthcare, Dr. Strickland entered medical school after three years at Georgia State University in 1971 and completed a pediatrics program at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1977. He subsequently underwent a fellowship at National Jewish Hospital from 1977 until 1979. Additionally, he is a valued member of the Kansas Medical Society, the Medical Society of Sedgwick County and the Texas Board of Stem Cell Institute.

Within the coming years, Dr. Strickland's goal is to decrease the increasing burden of allergies in the population. Despite his work being delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, he is investigating novel and less expensive therapeutic options to provide the best possible care to his patients.
