Drawing on over four decades of expertise, Ms. Gearhart specializes in leadership and management development. In 2015, she established The Performance Bridge LLC. As Principal, she facilitates leadership and management development workshops and webinars specializing in making the connection between fitness and growth as a leader. Prior to this role, Ms. Gearhart built a successful career at Merck and Co. Inc., where she served in a variety of progressive assignments from 1996 until 2014, including as a director of design and development for the Global Human Health Division (GHH), a GHH senior director of learning strategies, design and development, a GHH senior director of specialty, infectious diseases and managed care training, a GHH senior director of the global brand curriculum, and a director of Merck's enterprise wide executive and leadership training and development.
Ms. Gearhart initially began her vocation working as a Registered Clinical Dietitian at the Temple University Hospital Jeanes Campus and Fox Chase Cancer Center from 1981 to 1986. Following this post, she was active as a regional corporate dietitian at Acts Retirement-Life Communities Inc. from 1986 until 1989. Between 1989 and 1994, she supported over 1500 Nutrisystem Centers in the U.S. as a program services director, a quality assurance manager, and a national health care training specialist. Subsequently, she excelled as a project, training and consulting services manager for the Live for Life Employee Wellness program at Johnson and Johnson, where she served from 1994 to 1997. In her career-related endeavors, Ms. Gearhart has co-authored and published "REACH: Using Fitness to Grow Your Leadership: A Journal for Women" in 2022.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Gearhart pursued an education at Hood College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science and earned her Registered Dietitian credentials in 1981. She continued her academic efforts at Temple University, earning a Master of Education in exercise physiology in 1989. As a commitment to her field, she has been certified in applied positive psychology as an Applied Positive Psychology Practitioner and as an Everything DiSC® trainer. Additionally, Ms. Gearhart has volunteered her time and expertise to the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA), as director of programming, corporate sponsorships, Fit to Lead Affinity Group and as a board member in the Philadelphia region. She was recognized with HBA's Legacy award for her outstanding service and long-term contributions to the organization.
Among her professional accomplishments, she is most proud to have contributed to the design, development and delivery of division-wide Coaching Clinic Program at Merck and Co. Inc. and to have published her book in 2022.
Reflecting on a long career, Ms. Gearhart attributes much of her achievements to her clear sense of purpose. To use her passion for lifelong learning, collaborating with others and her unwavering dedication to a healthy lifestyle to experience a fulfilling life which includes facilitating breakthrough discoveries – helping others realize their full potential.
