A skilled professional with more than a decade of excellence in the nuclear power industry, Mr. Chase has earned distinction as a senior reactor operator for Southern Nuclear. Since 2021, he has focused his efforts on supervising various activities in the control room while providing direction and guidance to the operation team for emergencies and maintaining the nuclear fuels in the primary containment system. As a key member of the emergency procedure committee, he assists with designing plans and developing and publishing emergency documents for procedures and guidelines for the BWR to protect the public.
Mr. Chase enlisted in the Army National Guard in 2003 with much of his service spent with 20th Special Forces Group and 221st Cavalry Regiment. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom where he earned the Combat Infantry Badge and Gold Spurs. Mr. Chase was honorably discharged in 2011.
During his military service, Mr. Chase began his career in nuclear power as a Security Officer for Entergy in 2010. Shortly after this he was promoted to Senior Nuclear Equipment Operator at River Bend Station in 2011.
Eminently qualified in his field, Mr. Chase earned two licenses from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Reactor Operator license in 2018 and Senior Reactor Operator license in 2022. He is particularly proud to have acquired a Reactor Operator license from River Bend Station in Louisiana as well as a Senior Reactor Operator license for Plant Hatch in Georgia, a pair of licenses that are highly sought after and not easily obtained.
Looking to the future, Mr. Chase intends to establish himself as a proficient authority not only within North America but also on a global scale, particularly in the field of small modular nuclear reactors like the GE Hitachi BWRX-300.
