PIKE ROAD, AL, October 16, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles Brinsfield Campbell has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. After more than a decade of success as an attorney, Mr. Campbell transitioned into academia. Joining Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama, in 2007 as an associate professor of law in the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, he now also serves as the school's dean since 2020. Having garnered previous success in administration, Mr. Campbell served as an associate dean of academic affairs from 2014 to 2018 and subsequently as the interim dean between 2018 and 2020. Moreover, he has served on the university cabinet since 2018.
Passionate about his commitment to education, Mr. Campbell emphasizes that he and the law school exist to serve others. Among a myriad of responsibilities, he performs numerous administrative tasks while managing the overall operations of the law school. Mr. Campbell has several employees reporting directly to him, including the associate dean for academic affairs. In addition to academic affairs, he also manages the budget. As an educator, he teaches at least one section of a two-semester course in civil procedure every semester.
Among his most notable academic achievements, Mr. Campbell promoted the launch of an executive schedule to increase enrollment and serve working professionals, allowing the law school to expand from 176 students to over 315. This flexible schedule enables law students to take reduced loads of classes over four years and complete part of their instruction online instead of on campus. As the law school's representative, Mr. Campbell also strives to maintain a strong presence in the community by participating in local and state bars and introducing students to the legal profession. Looking toward future success, he envisions continued growth of the law school and diversifying the student body.
Having begun his career in the field in 1993, Mr. Campbell clerked for the late Emmett Ripley Cox of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Mobile, Alabama. He then spent over 15 years in private practice as an associate for Sasser & Littleton PC in Montgomery and Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt in Birmingham, Alabama, and as a senior associate at Crosslin, Slaten & O'Connor PC in Montgomery. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Campbell served as an assistant attorney general for the Attorney General of Alabama, through which he represented the state and worked on voting rights, preclearance, and constitutional issues. Additionally, he joined Senator Jeff Sessions as his deputy chief counsel for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Administrative Oversight and the Courts between 2006 and 2007.
In addition to his primary career endeavors, Mr. Campbell contributed numerous articles and other works in his field. He also served on several panels and was a presenter and moderator before discussion groups and other events.
Influential in his community, Mr. Campbell has served on the board of Health Talents International, an organization that engages in medical evangelism in Guatemala, participates in medical and surgical trips to the country, and provides support in other parts of Central America. He has also served on the Institute of Theology and Christian Ministry Foundation board, a nonprofit organization supporting evangelism in Russia.
Mr. Campbell received a Bachelor of Business Administration in international business from Auburn University in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia in 1993. He has been admitted to practice by the Alabama State Bar. Although no longer actively practicing, Mr. Campbell is also admitted in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Campbell is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Hugh Maddox American Inn of Court, and the Federalist Society.
In light of his academic accomplishments, Mr. Campbell was named as the Professor of the Year by the Student Bar Association at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 2014. His strong work ethic, which he learned from his parents while coming of age, the excellent education he received at Auburn University and the University of Virginia, and the clerkship he completed under Judge Emmett Cox, have all been instrumental in acquiring a solid foundation for law practice and legal education.
