An accomplished author, podcast host, trauma and addiction recovery advocate, attorney, and kundalini yoga instructor, Ms. Davis has a lifetime record of passionate work and dedication improving the lives of others. She currently splits her time between representing clients in the courtroom and a variety of trauma and addiction recovery related initiatives. When she is not conducting interviews for her podcast "Home is Within You, Transforming Shame Into Power", with the Mind, Body, and Spirit FM Network, https://mindbodyspirit.fm/shows/home-is-within-you/ she passionately seeks truth, justice, and an end to all shaming of human struggles, advocating for those who suffer from trauma, addiction, and mental health issues, empowering individuals to transform shame into power. Becoming a published author, Ms. Davis released her award-winning book "Home is Within You: A Memoir of Recovery and Redemption" via Girl Friday Books in 2023. The book is a personal account of her experience overcoming childhood and adult trauma, a near death car accident, addiction, and public shaming while married to former California Attorney General Bill Lockyer, with whom she shares three sons. It also provides insight into the life experiences of her parents, and recounts her involvement as an attorney for a significant case that resulted in the dismissal of a wrongfully convicted youth, Arthur Carmona.

During her career, Ms. Davis has worked for several of the nation's most notable pro-bono law firms, including Public Counsel, The Center for Human Rights & Constitutional Law, and the Mexican-American Legal Defense & Education Fund. She subsequently worked for several private law firms before joining the Alameda County Family Justice Center in 2007, where she was instrumental in assisting individuals and families who had been victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and exploitation, child abuse, elder and dependent adult abuse, and stalking.

Adding to her extensive background, Ms. Davis was a member of the Santa Ana Unified Board of Trustees between 1998 and 2002, a member of the California Community Colleges Board of Governors from 2009 to 2010, and a supervisor for District 2 of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors between 2011 and 2012.

Ms. Davis graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology specializing in juvenile justice in 1994. Ms. Davis has been admitted to practice by the California Bar Association. She also received certifications as a domestic violence advocate through the Long Beach Women's Shelter and as a Kundalini yoga instructor in three different levels through the Kundalini Research Institute, and a master certification in the Japji Language through the Seventh Chakra Institute of Spiritual Sciences.
