PORT ORANGE, FL, October 24, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chiye Onodera Duffy has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on over two decades of expertise, Mrs. Duffy specializes in pediatric physical therapy. Since 2020, she has found much success as the owner, physical therapist, certified neurodevelopment therapist and certified infant massage instructor at Pedspt.cndt, LLC in Florida. She created this business due to the lack of pediatric Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) specialists in central Florida; she wants to bring awareness and emphasize the amazing profession and treatment strategies of neuro-developmental techniques which can provide improvement in functional movements for pediatric clients with neuromuscular dysfunction. In this capacity, she is responsible for collaborating with vendors for their therapy equipment needs, providing manual physical therapy treatment for children, assisting her patients in the utilization of the equipment, and educating parents on effective patterns and habits to develop with their children. Prior to this role, Mrs. Duffy served as a Pediatric Physical Therapist in many hospitals. She was employed at Loma Linda University Pediatric Hospital in the Acute Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit in California as a primary Pediatric Therapist for over 10 years. She also specialized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Children's Hospital of Orange County, and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric Oncology Intensive Care Unit in California for 10 years. She also provided weekend coverage at Cedar Sinai Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as well as the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. In conjunction to working at Children's Hospital of Orange County, she also provided continuum of care in the home setting for pediatric clients from 0-3 years of age with Regional Center in California and later in an outpatient pediatric setting prior to moving to Florida.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Mrs. Duffy pursued her education at California State University-Long Beach where she was an amateur springboard and platform diver on scholarship. During her diving experiences as a national diver, she was introduced to the benefits of physical therapy and how it helped her injuries. She then continued her pursuit in education and diving at California State University, Northridge, obtaining a bachelor's degree in health education, followed by a bachelor's degree in life science at Loma Linda University. She continued her academic efforts at Loma Linda University, where she earned a master's degree in physical therapy in 1995 and completed her internship in acute rehabilitation for pediatric trauma and outpatient rehabilitation. As a commitment to her field, Mrs. Duffy has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Pediatric Section of the APTA, the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association, and the International Loving Touch Foundation Inc.

Among her professional accomplishments Mrs. Duffy is most proud to be impacting her young patients and their families with her specialty by establishing programs for infancy stages and beyond to help children develop useful habits, independent mobility, and the ability to outgrow the need for physical therapy in California and in Florida. Additionally, she is gratified to have helped create a ventilation program for infants at a medical facility in Loma Linda, California. Reflecting on her career, she attributes much of her success to her love and passion for her profession, working with the infant and the pediatric population, her determination for her patients to see improvements, and ultimately changes seen in their movement condition towards independence. Looking toward the future, Mrs. Duffy aspires to expand the scope of her practice, provide consultation in the nearby Neonatal Intensive Care Units, start a wheelchair clinic, and obtain her primitive reflex certification as an adjunct to effectively treat more pediatric clients. Her ultimate goal is always to constantly improve her physical therapy techniques and skills, thus providing the best physical therapy sessions for her pediatric clients who suffer with movement difficulties and neuromuscular dysfunction to be able to optimize their quality of life.
