    SAN DIEGO, CA, October 25, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Abdul-Lateef Oladipo Alaka has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A skilled problem-solver who thrives on utilizing his extensive knowledge, expertise and education to tackle challenging problems, Mr. Alaka has earned distinction as an engineering chief warrant officer with the United States Navy. Since 1999, he has focused his efforts on serving as a subject matter expert in engineering systems, such as working with steam, gas turbine and diesel engines. He has invaluable experience working on different ship and submarine platforms and currently leads the engineering and materials readiness of amphibious dock landing ships.

Outside of his primary career efforts, Mr. Alaka has been an amphibious type desk officer with the Commander Naval Surface Forces United States Pacific Fleet since 2023. He is also a valued member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, the Golden Key International Honor Society, the Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement, and the African-American Learning Inclusion and Guidance Network, among other professional organizations.

Mr. Alaka's distinguished career with the United States Navy began in 1999, where he ascended from a boiler operator to a supervisor by 2000. Over the years, he held various significant roles, including LCAC maintenance department supervisor and lead boiler technician on the USS Kitty Hawk. He continued to excel, assuming the position of auxiliaries and main propulsion leading chief petty officer on the USS Bonhomme Richard in 2010. Mr. Alaka's responsibilities expanded to include overseeing repairs for submarines and serving as a repair department training officer until 2013.

His military journey continued with roles as an engineering auxiliary officer on the USS Makin Island (2013-2016) and a main propulsion assistant on the USS Mobile Bay until 2018. Subsequently, he served as a Task Force 73 type desk officer and project manager in Singapore from 2018 to 2021, where he celebrated the birth of his two daughters, Taibah and Khalilah. From 2021 to 2023, Mr. Alaka was deployed to Bahrain as a chief engineer on board two vessels. Additionally, he briefly worked as a tax associate with H&R Block from 2006 to 2008. His exemplary service earned him six Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and four Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.

While developing his career, Mr. Alaka completed pre-medical coursework at the University of New Haven and studied at Yale University in 1999. After determining he would prefer to fix machines rather than people, he earned an associate's degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from Coastline Community College in 2006. He subsequently gained a Bachelor of Applied Science in project management, summa cum laude, from American Military University in 2021.

Looking to the future, Mr. Alaka intends to complete a Master of Business Administration program at Columbia Southern University. This will enable him to take advantage of higher-level opportunities while remaining committed to the United States Navy.
