BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 03, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Debbie Levin has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Well-regarded as a prominent advocate for the environmental movement and a leading figure in the entertainment industry, Ms. Levin has distinguished herself as the chief executive officer of the Environmental Media Association (EMA) since 2000. Established as a nonprofit organization in 1989, EMA has sought to leverage the power of mass entertainment and the media to inspire and educate the global public on the importance of environmental protection for over three decades. Since its founding, EMA has expanded the scope of its operations to encompass a network of influencers that can bring the planet's most pressing issues to the forefront of popular culture. It is also the producer of various nationally broadcasted events, such as the annual EMA IMPACT Summit and the EMA Awards and Honors Benefit Gala.

In her role as the CEO of the organization, Ms. Levin leads EMA's mission as a storyteller for the environment, working with entrepreneurs, large corporations, academics, innovators and celebrities to advocate for a green economy and a more sustainable world. For over the last three decades, EMA has exerted a profound influence on not only the entertainment industry but the global community at large as a result of changing perceptions regarding the environment. In addition to its work with a variety of entertainers, EMA has established fruitful partnerships with such companies as The Hollywood Reporter, JPMS, Amazon Studios, Montage International and the Toyota Motor Corporation. The latter company, as a direct beneficiary of the increased popularity of hybrid electric vehicles, praised EMA as its "secret weapon" in driving a 20% increase in overall sales for the Toyota Prius.

Best noted for her powerful ability to connect with millennials and Generation Z, Ms. Levin established the EMA Activist Board in 2022, through which popular influencers can amplify the organization's mission of environmental advocacy. Moreover, past EMA Board inductees have included a number of iconic actors, celebrities and industry titans, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Billie Eilish, Justin Timberlake, Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Elon Musk, to name only a few. Additionally, Ms. Levin led efforts in 2003 to implement the EMA Green Seal, which has become the global standard program for recognizing productions and businesses that adhere to the best practices in environmental sustainability.

Ms. Levin initially studied at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, where she attained a Bachelor of Arts in 1976. She went on to work in the entertainment industry and was involved for several years in film criticism and journalism. She first became involved in environmental advocacy after attending a luncheon hosted by EMA in late 1999, where she met the organization's original founders. Impressed with the EMA's mission, she accepted the role of CEO beginning in 2000 and worked to improve its fundraising, program and entertainment industry capabilities.

To commemorate her accomplishments, Ms. Levin has earned several accolades, including the United Nations First Ladies Fashion 4 Development Eco Award in 2014, and the Recyclápolis International Environmental Award, which was presented to her by the Minister of the Environment of Chile in 2018.

Outside of her primary endeavors at the EMA, Ms. Levin is a member of the Boards of U.S. Green Communities, the Virtue Project, Paley Center's Media Council and Campbell Hall School. She is a loving wife, a mother of two and a grandmother of five, on whose behalf she has worked tirelessly to create a better world. Looking toward the future, Ms. Levin aspires to enhance EMA's involvement in global advocacy and is presently working with a studio in Lisbon, Portugal, that is set to become the largest campus for sustainable production in Europe.
